Projecting Common English Bible text in worship
Created by pfranklyn on 10/28/2011 6:57:51 AM

Some worship leaders have asked whether we will offer a worship projection edition of the Common English Bible. A worship projection edition of a new hymnal might make more sense because getting music and lyrics on a screen is a bit more difficult than cutting and pasting -- if the actual sheet music is allowed for display.

However, the actual process of getting verses onto the screen happens one of three ways:

  1. The computer operator, working in Powerpoint, manually types it in from a print edition.
  2. The operator, working in Powerpoint or an image manipulation app like Photoshop, copies and pastes the text from a website. In this case the operator simply goes to commonenglishbible.com and uses the scripture lookup untility.  Or if the church has a web site, they can download a scripture lookup widget that will pull up the text for copying and pasting to the screen.
  3. The operator, using a worship presentation program like MediaShout or ProPresenter, purchases the CEB module and can then call the relevant verses directly from a database for projection.

We do have other plans underway for the Common English Bible and the worship projection screen, so stay tuned.

Reading the Bible Most Important.
Created by David Morgan in 1/14/2013 4:52:08 PM
I like your web site and blog.

Just wanted to say that reading the Bible is so very important. Finding time to spend in the Word of God is probable the best use of your time. Problem is that people really don't seem to have time to read the Bible as much as they would like to in today's hectic pace.

However, I try to put time aside everyday to read my Bible, If I don’t then I just feel that my day is not complete and not fulfilled. Some people are dedicated to working out, playing golf, and many other things they do all the time. For me it’s reading my Bible and would advise the same for everyone. It’s a source of joy and inspiration as well as comfort and encouragement.

God Bless you in your ministry.

Thank you for the question, Ray. It is OK to copy and paste the CEB text for projecting in worship.
Cut and Paste projection OK?

The copyright notice in the printed CEB seems to send a mixed message with regard to the ability to legally project scripture from the CEB during worship services. Does your instruction on Copying and Pasting CEB text for projecting constitute permission for users to do so with programs such as MediaShout even though the CEB module for such programs is not currently available?

Do you all have a time frame on when you'll release for ProPresenter and MediaShout?
Large Print soon?

I do well with cut and paste, but would love to have a copy with paper and ink that is Large Print. The first bibles you have out all have small type. I would have purchased several, except the type is too small.
