Projecting Common English Bible text in worship Created by pfranklyn on 10/28/2011 6:57:51 AM
Some worship leaders have asked whether we will offer a worship projection edition of the Common English Bible. A worship projection edition of a new hymnal might make more sense because getting music and lyrics on a screen is a bit more difficult than cutting and pasting -- if the actual sheet music is allowed for display.
However, the actual process of getting verses onto the screen happens one of three ways:
- The computer operator, working in Powerpoint, manually types it in from a print edition.
- The operator, working in Powerpoint or an image manipulation app like Photoshop, copies and pastes the text from a website. In this case the operator simply goes to commonenglishbible.com and uses the scripture lookup untility. Or if the church has a web site, they can download a scripture lookup widget that will pull up the text for copying and pasting to the screen.
- The operator, using a worship presentation program like MediaShout or ProPresenter, purchases the CEB module and can then call the relevant verses directly from a database for projection.
We do have other plans underway for the Common English Bible and the worship projection screen, so stay tuned.
